It was a great day at Gisburn Auction Mart yesterday, being treated to a lot of great cattle and the ringside being packed with lots of eager buyers. Its always great to see lots of keen young farmers at the auction during half term, the next generation showing interest.
Thank you to Thomas Marshall for judging yesterdays show, supported by his dad Rob. Thomas’ decisions were backed by the prices, after he sifted through the strong classes.
New Calved Heifer Results
1st place was awarded to HJ & KL Blackwell with a 27lt small stature very sweet, jet black heifer later selling for £1880. (picture below)
2nd place was awarded to DA Wilcock with another 27lt heifer making the the same price as 1st place, £1880.
3rd place was awarded to R Ward with a 28lt heifer selling for £2020.
New Calved Pedigree Heifer Results
1st place was awarded to H & VE Jolly Fieldside by Peak AltaAmulet a 36lt heifer later selling for £2620. (pictured below)
2nd place was awarded to H & VE Jolly Fieldside by Peak AltaGoPro a 35lt heifer later selling for £2600.
3rd place was awarded to RB & MJ Webster Whitster by Vogue Solarpower a 31lt heifer later selling for £2650.
New Calved Cow Results
1st place was awarded to J & M Sanderson Sandcrest by Peak AltaSpring a 34lt 2nd calver cow later selling for £2150. (pictured below)
2nd place was awarded again to J & M Sanderson Sandcrest by Peak AltaSpring a 40lt 2nd calver cow later selling for £2180.
3rd place was awarded to A Grimshaw Carldanton by Lindenright Apps a 50lt 2nd calver cow later selling for £2300.
