Commercial Vehicle Cleaning Operative

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Transport Operative to join a leading FMCG/Animal Feed manufacturing business. You will work 40 hours work per week, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30.
Main Purpose of the Role

The Transport Cleaning Operative is responsible for maintaining the company’s fleet of bulk vehicles and trailers to the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance. This includes UFAS‑compliant sanitising, TASCC awareness, accurate record‑keeping, and supporting the company’s obligations to food safety and traceability.

​Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Vehicle Cleaning & Compliance

  • Sanitise vehicle exteriors and interiors using steam‑cleaning equipment in line with UFAS hygiene requirements.
  • Record all vehicle washing activity using Samsara to maintain accurate and auditable logs.
  • Carry out high‑level cleaning tasks using a cherry picker, following safe working‑at‑height procedures.
  • Ensure all cleaning meets UFAS and TASCC standards, preventing contamination and maintaining full traceability.
  • Inspect vehicles for hygiene, contamination risks, and general cleanliness, escalating issues where required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised wash‑bay environment at all times.

Operational Support

  • Assist with tipping bulk intake trailers on site when required.
  • Uphold the company’s image and reputation through professional conduct and high standards of work.
  • Work closely with control room staff to support efficient vehicle turnaround.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including those outlined in the Company Handbook.
  • Assess yard and walkway conditions during winter months and apply grit when necessary.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as required by Senior Management.

Food Safety & Assurance Standards

  • Work within all UFAS requirements, ensuring hygiene, traceability, and contamination‑control standards are met.
  • Understand TASCC rules for vehicle hygiene, including previous‑load considerations and contamination prevention.
  • Ensure all work supports the company’s obligations to food safety and traceability standards at all times.
Person Specification

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to work independently and as part of the wider Dugdale Nutrition team.
  • Understanding of working at height and in confined spaces (training provided).
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and tablet‑based systems.
  • Able to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high health & safety standards.
  • Punctual, reliable, self‑motivated, and able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Flexible approach to working hours to support operational needs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Hold a Category B car driving licence.
  • Comfortable manoeuvring and shunting rigid and articulated vehicles around site.

Sales Interns

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Sales Intern to join a leading FMCG/Animal Feed manufacturing business, on a 12 month fixed term contract.
Main Purpose
  • To train you in sales and nutrition.
  • To develop confidence to allow you to visit farms and sell them feed and additives to support animal performance.
  • To give a full knowledge of the process of manufacture and delivery of animal feed.
​Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Spend time in each department within Dugdale Nutrition
  • Attend training sessions relating to sales and nutrition
  • Use DN vehicles to visit farms – delivering bags, taking samples, discussing and selling feeds, talking to farmers, looking at livestock
  • Attend agricultural shows and events as part of the DN team
  • Attend sales meetings
  • You will learn about all business areas and how they contribute to the overall success of the company. As well as Learn all aspects of ruminant nutrition from basic requirements through to more complex technical support.

Specialist Product Sales Advisor

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Product Sales Advisor to join a leading FMCG/Animal Feed manufacturing business. Working 40 hours per week Mon – Fri.

Main Purpose
  • To support the Commercial Manager in the day-to-day management of traded product pricing and technical queries. This role ensures accurate and timely processing of sales and purchase orders, and the need to liaise with suppliers to guarantee on-time and in-full delivery of goods either to the warehouse or directly to farm.
​Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and technical support to the Commercial Manager and Sales Team, including pricing and product queries.
  • Process customer sales orders accurately on the ERP system.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring they are sent to suppliers promptly.
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm delivery schedules and ensure timely and complete deliveries.
  • Maintain and update traded product records across relevant business platforms.
  • Assist with logging and resolving non-conformances to maintain high customer service standards.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments including Sales, Transport, and Quality teams.
  • Utilise the Dugdale Nutrition CRM system to ensure all enquiries and order details are logged onto the system.

Essential:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

  • Good geographic knowledge of the UK.

Transport Operative 4 on 4 off

Due to fleet expansion, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Transport Operative to join a leading FMCG/Animal Feed manufacturing business. You will work a continental shift pattern based on 24/7 working, which is 4 x 12 hour shifts days, followed by 4 days off.

Main Purpose
  • As a Transport Operative you are responsible for the transportation of goods between suppliers and customers. To comply with all rules and regulations involved with driver’s hours, working time directive rules and maintain the company’s high standards regarding customer service. You are not just an HGV driver but also the ‘face of the Business’. This role requires a good level of flexibility as you will be asked to cover holidays, sick leave, and evening deliveries, you will be undertaking bulk blowing, bulk tipping, delivery, and collection of bagged products using rigid and articulated vehicles. To undertake this role, you will not have a permanent vehicle however we try and keep people in the same vehicle for the 4 days on shift. 
​Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Undertake Daily Safety Inspections of the vehicle and report any defects following the correct procedure.
  •   Adhere to Driving Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive at all times.
  • Deliver finished product and raw material in the most cost effective way possible.
  • Always uphold the company’s image and reputation.
  • To help with the company’s carbon footprint by driving in a manner that is safe, legal and optimises fuel efficiency.
  • Adhere to Company policy, procedure and legislation including the Company Handbook.
  • Comply with and uphold all aspects of the Company’s health & Safety instructions, requirements and policies.
  • Follow all rules and regulations set out in the Driver Handbooks.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicles and sanitising requirements.
  • Work always within the framework and requirements of the Company’s obligations to the Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS)
  • Be prepared to have the occasional night out if required.

  • Understand the rules set out for delivery drivers as set out by the Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops (TASSC) 
Person Specification
  • Must hold a LGV C+E License (class 1) or LGV C (class 2)
  • Have knowledge of how to use Microsoft Office and Apps for data entry
  • Must have a valid and up to date driver Certificate of professional competence (CPC)
  •   Be able to work alone and as part of the wider Dugdale Nutrition team. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to high health & safety standards.
  • Have good Timekeeping and housekeeping.
  • Self-motivated and ability to think on your feet.
  •   Offer a good level of flexibility.  
  • Be Familiar with the Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) code of practice for making safe deliveries of animal feed on farms.
