If you are, then an excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Transport Operative to join a leading FMCG/Food manufacturing business working a continental shift pattern of 4 on 4 off. This role requires a good level of flexibility as you will be asked to cover holidays, sick leave and evening deliveries. You will be undertaking bulk blowing, bulk tipping, delivery and collection of bagged products using rigid and articulated vehicles. To undertake this role, you will not have a permanent vehicle however we try and keep people in the same vehicle for the 4 days on shift.

Your responsibilities…
Reporting to the Transport Manager, your duties will include but not limited to:

Undertake daily safety inspections of vehicle and report any defects following the correct procedure.

Adhere to Driving Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive at all times.

Deliver finished product and raw material in the most cost effective way possible.
-
To help with the companies carbon foot print by driving in a manner that is safe, legal and optimises fuel efficiency.

Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicles and sanitising requirements.

Work at all times within the framework and requirements of the Company’s obligations to the Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS)

Be prepared to have the occasional night out if required
-
To ensure all paperwork is completed and given to the correct recipient

Respect Customers property and site rules
-
Work as part of a 4 on 4 off rota system covering holidays, sick leave and evening delivery’s as required

Saturday and Sunday rota days will be day shifts
-
Be Familiar with the Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) code of practice for making safe deliveries of animal feed on farms
-
Have an understanding of the rules set out for delivery drivers as set out by the Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops (TASSC)
-
Adhere to Company policy, procedure and legislation including the Company Handbook.

Comply with and uphold all aspects of the Company’s health & Safety instructions, requirements and policies.
-
Follow all rules and regulations set out in the Driver Handbooks.
-
Uphold the company’s image and reputation at all times.
-
Undertake other reasonable duties as required by Senior Management.
Person Specification…
Essential:
-
Must hold a LGV C+E License (class 1)
-
Must have a valid and up to date driver Certificate of professional competence (CPC)
-
Be able to work alone and as part of the wider Dugdale Nutrition team
-

Flexibility and ability to work under pressure

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to high health & safety standards

Self-motivation and ability to think on your feet

A positive attitude to work, continued learning and development
Desirable:

Good understanding of Microsoft Office and use of tablets

Experience with bulk blowing is desirable but full training will be given
