If you are, then an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Transport Cleaning and Loading Operative to join a leading FMCG/Food manufacturing business working 40 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday (15.00 hrs to 01.30 hrs).  This role will also involve covering holidays and sickness for the permanent Night Loaders. A good level of flexibility will be required as you will have to move shifts when holiday cover for the permanent Night Loaders is needed.

Your responsibilities…

Reporting to the Transport Manager, your duties will include but not limited to;

  • Undertake sanitizing of vehicles both exterior and interior in line with UFAS requirements using a steam cleaner. 

  • Tipping of bulk intake trailers as required on site.

  • Always uphold the company’s image and reputation.

  • To assist the permanent night loaders with loading of company bulk delivery vehicles to meet the customer’s requirements.

  • Cover night loading when required if permanent night loaders are on annual leave or sick

  • Ensure all loading instructions are followed and the delivery paperwork is completed to enable the customer to be invoiced correctly.

  • To comply with and uphold all aspects of the company’s Health & Safety instructions, requirements and policies.

  • To work at all times within the framework and requirements of the Company’s obligations to food safety/traceability standards.

  • Adhere to Company policy, procedure and legislation including the Company Handbook.

  • Make sure a retained sample is taken for all products loaded.

  • Work closely with control room staff to ensure all trucks are loaded in the most prompt and efficient way allowing for production to continue

  • Ensure that all products are loaded in the correct vehicle compartments

  • Check that product quality is to the company standard when loading and know when to escalate issues when needed

  • Have an understanding of the rules for loading vehicles as set out by the Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops (TASSC)

  • Work at all times within the framework and requirements of the Company’s obligations to the Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS)

  • Undertake other reasonable duties as required by Senior Management.

 

Person Specification…

Essential:

​

  • Be able to work alone and as part of the wider Dugdale Nutrition team 

  • Have a understanding of working at heights and in confined spaces

  • Have a good understanding of Microsoft Office and Tablet devices

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to high health & safety standards

  • Must be punctual and reliable

  • Self-motivated and ability to think on your feet

  • Offer a good level of flexibility   

  • Hold a category B car driving licence

  • Be comfortable manoeuvring and shunting rigid and articulated vehicles around sites
