Mitchell’s Auction Sale Report - August 23rd


Dugdale Nutrition proudly sponsored The August Show and Sale of Store lambs, which attracted a pleasing entry of 2046 lambs forward. Judging was in the capable hands of Mr Stuart Miller, Allerby Hall who commented on the quality put before him. The Champion Pen of 10 lambs came from R Wilson, Dockray Nook, Lamplugh with Beltex selling for £81.50 to Anthony Skelton. Reserve Champion went to AJ Wood, Woodhall Brow Farm, Dean with a pen of Texel Lambs selling at £78.

Out with the Show all classes of lambs were good to sell to an active ringside of purchasers ensuring high rates were maintained. 32 pens of lambs sold in excess of £60 per head upto £81.50 for the Champion pen from Richard Wilson. Mule lambs sold to a top of £57.50 for 2 pens both consigned by JE & A Wilson, Far End, Bootle.
