On Tuesday 9th April 2019, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their weekly sale of prime sheep when 4086 sheep were forward consisting of 3316 prime hoggs 730 cast sheep and 40 spring lambs.
The annual prize show for Easter Spring Lambs was held which saw a strong turnout of 40 New Season lambs being on offer.
The judging of these was carried out by Morgan Helliwell, Rochdale who awarded the Champion Rosette to a 39kg Beltex cross lamb from Ivanhoe Livestock Partnership, which when on to sell for £145, 371.8p/kg with the judge purchasing.
