If you are, then an excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Night Loader to join a leading FMCG/Food manufacturing business working a continental shift patter of 4 on 4 off (average of 35 hours per week).

Your responsibilities…

As a night loader you are responsible for the loading of compound feeds, meals, and blends onto the company’s vehicles in the correct order for delivery. You will ensure that you meet the customers’ requirements, making sure that no cross contamination occurs, and the correct weights are met for both the customer and the vehicles gross weight. You will carry out your duties in line with the working time directive rules and maintain the company’s high standards regarding customer service. Please note, this is a physically demanding role.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, your duties will include but not limited to;

  • Load company bulk delivery vehicles to meet the customer’s requirements using an in-house automated computer loading system.

  • Ensure all loading instructions are followed and that delivery paperwork is complete to allow the customer to be invoiced correctly.

  • Retain a sample of all products loaded.

  • Comply with and uphold all aspects of the company’s Health & Safety instructions, requirements, and policies.

  • Have an excellent understanding of the rules and regulations for loading vehicles as set out by the Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops (TASSC)

  • Work at all times within the framework and requirements of the Company’s obligations to the Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS)

  • Some manual handling and will be required when moving the vehicles internal partition doors (no more than 25kg in weight) 

  • working in confined spaces for short periods of time whilst moving the partition doors

  • You will be required to drive and manoeuvre our artic and rigid vehicles around site, this will involve manoeuvring onto and off the out-loading weight bridges and bulk intake bays.

  • Work at all times within the framework and requirements of the Company’s obligations to food safety/traceability standards.

  • Adhere to Company policy, procedure and legislation including the Company Handbook.

  • Undertake other reasonable duties as required by Senior Management

 

Person Specification…

Essential:

  • Have a good standard of driving and awareness of manoeuvring large vehicles and plant machinery

  • Be able to work alone and as part of the wider Dugdale Nutrition team 

  • Excellent time keeping

  • Attention to detail

  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to high health & safety standards

  • Self-motivation and ability to think on your feet

  • Be Familiar with the Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) code of practice for making safe deliveries of animal feed on farms

  • A positive attitude to work, continued learning and development

 

Desirable:

  • HGV licence desirable but not essential

  • Full Clean UK driving licence  

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills

  • Have knowledge of how to use Microsoft Office and Apps for data entry

  • Experience with bulk blowing is desirable but full training will be given
